It became harder and harder to separate how the software is built from how the software is structured. If not, whos going to insist we switch to free and open source software? However, they insisted on using a platform that totally contradicted their business model. But along the way, something strange happened.

They didn’t validate their business model before investing so much in it and under-estimated the “last mile” problem. Use a continuous delivery model to release new features quickly with the least amount of friction. Can it work for an enterprise software company? Real world example: WebVan vs Zappos.
