Sean and Shawn from Napster met in an IRC channel. In my case, I grew up in Connecticut and spent a fair amount of time in New York – all the while trying to start companies, relatively unsuccessfully. More often than not, a startup/company fails because the product developed is not what the marketplace sought.

I’m just really sick of how Techcrunch propagates this fairy tale scenario of web startups but spinning this best-case scenario success story as being the guide for others’ success when they really comes down to a number of jackpot background factors. It really needs some rounded corners for that web 2.0
