I call it drip-financing. Most entrepreneurs have no choice but to avail of this sort of financing along with the mentoring and the contacts that could come with it (doesn't always come along, though). In 1M/1M, our preferred financing strategy is customers. Because customer financing equals revenue, not equity.

Well, I have coached early stage entrepreneurs for a couple of years now - diligently, patiently - and have learned a few things. As you may know, 99% of the entrepreneurs who seek financing, get rejected. The first step is to develop some reference customers, something all early-stage startups should do.

Earlier, of course, we covered AngelList at length , also a crowd sourcing venture in the angel financing space, and this week, we have covered SecondMarket , which is powering Facebook's private market capital raising. She has a master's degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

So, please note the TAM Analysis is a vitally important aspect of building any financing strategy. Raymond is wondering why he cannot attract financing. Today, he sees the opportunity to do a cloud capacity planning company.

He needs to generate enough profit so that he can grow organically and build his business systematically, and without expecting a lot of outside financing.
