This made it easier for ISPs to offer PHP hosting on shared servers, too. Although this was annoying for sysadmins, security consultants, and language purists (and for those who had proprietary modules that couldnt be bundled), it was a huge boon for developers. Given that startups depend on superstars to survive, why stick with PHP?
