As a CTO, I can definitely say without a doubt that few people understand what a CTO does. When I tell someone I’m a CTO, I’m often met with a blank stare. Even when someone is aware of what a CTO does, they often have limited context due to the wide variety of CTO roles.

Hiring Has Changed: Before the press was a way of generating interest for hiring. And search engines like sourcing.io help you build a specific list based on skills you’re seeking. Word of mouth spreads faster and sales cycles are shorter. What’s changed?

Previously CTO, Goldman Sachs. Adrian Kunzle, Head of Firmwide Engineering & Architecture (CTO), JP Morgan Chase. Sales cycle can often go into something like co-development. 2-18 month sales cycle. This is definitely not the norm in accelerator programs; I’d be curious to know the logic.
