My conclusion: if you’re a software engineer, with good technical background and ability, you can pretty much write your own ticket in Southern California. cloud computing (Amazon AWS and EC2, etc.) Social media related skills are also big, i.e. Facebook app development, and so on. Why do I say that?

They write everything from assembly to jQuery, on PCs to mobile phones, doing hard core computer graphics to high level social networking. This literally the dumbest, most ignorant piece that I’ve ever read about software development and/or hiring programmers. They’ve tried everything. Everything, that is, but.NET.
