So what does CTO mean, besides just "technical founder who really cant manage anyone?" So I initially gravitated to the CTO title, and not VP of Engineering.

When Open Source software projects are launched, the progenitors often start a for-profit sister company to garner some income from training, support and consulting. Because they are open source.

Do a curl (or your.NET equivalent) on each domain, and see how many are running a Windows server: I think you’ll find the fraction very small. You need to hear this from someone who has used.Net extensively, and then happily walked away from it to go open source: You are a wanker. It’s an *freaking open source*.net

Lessons Learned by Eric Ries Monday, January 12, 2009 Why PHP won When I first learned to program on the web, Perl + CGI was the dominant platform. But by the time I was building my first websites for commercial use , PHP had taken over. Writing unit tests or mock objects in PHP is an exercise in constant frustration.

I also know someone else who consulted me about his website idea. Programmers, and certainly not the visionary founders, are the most qualified for that task. #6 6 I havent done a ton of hiring (only a little) and have found the freelancing sites to be a poor source for quality work. THANK YOU!!! Most people have a basic idea.
