We worked together at Andersen Consulting between 1996-99 when the markets were booming. During the down market they were able to double down on recruiting, sales, outsourcing, new market entries and marketing (yes, with Tiger ads ). Avoid the latest fads, trends or PR announcements. He always was.

The woman in charge of sales was so tenacious that I used to feelsorry for potential customers on the phone with her. We alsothought wed be able to sign up a lot of catalog companies, becauseselling online was a natural extension of their existing business.But in 1996 that was a hard sell. Its more likely to double your sales.
