Since at least 2007, Austin has been the fastest growing metro area in America. Austin, in many ways, shows the promise and the problem in America. Austin has shed some of the innocence of its youth as a city circa 1970 through 2000 and replaced it with socio-economic stratification and segregation of its growth, post-2000.
