2 preamble issues having read the comments on TC today: 1: I know that the prices of startup companies is much great in Silicon Valley than in smaller towns / less tech focused areas in the US and the US prices higher than many foreign markets. As the risks below get eliminated the higher the valuation investors are prepared to pay.

I have been close to the tech & startup sectors for more than 20 years and I can’t think of a period in which I felt more optimistic about the innovation and value creation I see in front of us. In 1998 there were around 850 VC funds and by 2000 there were 2,300. The Funding Problem. Today’s Normalization.

When you’re an early-stage startup that hasn’t raised any institutional money you end up doing almost every job function of the company yourself. million which closed the first week of March 2000 – a week before the market crashed. I’m not trying to take credit beyond where credit is due.
