Well, scientists have struggled to reproduce the effects of several studies about priming, including this notorious study (mentioned by Malcolm Gladwell in his book Blink ) where participants were “primed” with words like “Florida” and “bingo” then were observed walking more slowly—like the elderly. But we can still trust Cialdini, right?
