After more than a year of searching, we brought Dan Nye in as LinkedIn’s new CEO at the beginning of 2007. During his time as CEO, he built a real sales department, rebuilt the executive team, and doubled the size of the company. Dick wasn’t named CEO until 2010, four years after the company’s official start. This can work, too.
