In 2009, Google allowed publishers to cap FCF views at five articles per day ; in 2015, the cap tightened to three articles. News is an especially challenging vertical since no site owns a newsworthy event. For publishers, the policy didn’t work. Anyone who accessed an article via a Google search enjoyed Infinite Clicks Free.
