Jake Soberal and Irma Olguin started Bitwise in 2013 with the idea that the technology industry could be used to fix a city--in their case, Fresno, CA. They founded Onward, a platform that matches displaced workers--usually, hourly workers--to industries that are hiring rapidly right now. That thesis to us, doesn't feel controversial.
