My longtime friend Marion Jenkins, CEO of IT consultant QSE Technologies wrote what I think is one of the most eloquent and well thought out rebuttals to the proposed Colorado “Software Tax” (HB 1192). I urge you to oppose HB 1192, the so-called “Software” Tax. CDs) – shouldn’t change whether the software should be taxed.

They pronounced “The End of Software.&# It was typical Marc Benioff marketing hyperbole but it was very effective. Their company, my company and countless others espoused cloud-based applications. Programming languages were radically less functional, hardware was literally a hundred times more expensive, and there was no virtualization or cloud computing or AJAX. Constrained by such an early and weak technology platform, companies built poor applications.

I want to request some content via Ajax and get just the content back, no markup - here you go. Almost certainly youll be needing to do some DOM manipulation stuff and Ajax and thats what jQuery slays at. It’s probably because Webforms was essentially designed to cater to Desktop Application developers.
