My partner Greg Bettinelli gave me the idea for the title of this post because he ran a breakout session at the Upfront Summit titled “How to Out Amazon, Amazon.” Curation There are really multiple forms of “curation” that I think can build sustainable differentiation in products vs. the retailer that is selling them.

We met at a private party hosted by his venture partner Mike Yavonditte and I outlined my concerns for the lack of precision of the algorithm. I was also sick of my own curated life on Facebook and thought, there must be a place more interesting than this to hang out online. One of the main reasons why my partners and I started TopFire Media is to fill a void within the franchise arena. Our sippy cup is made in Riverside, California which we are very proud of.

Ultimately, the company partnered with the City of Los Angeles , and as Eren recalls, "seven days after the original handshake and launch into a scheduling website, we helped launch Dodger Stadium, which was the single largest mass vaccination site in the country." They pivoted to monitoring patients for COVID, then testing.
