Will developers and designers provide services for a piece of the company? Ideally you can pay them based + equity so that you’ll get their attention and focus on the project. However, i need a technical person (web developer) who can bring my vision to life. Initial developer: partner or hired? Google won’t care.

Also, for the full time coder, you may violate your employee contract especially in the area of non-competes or just plain piss off your boss when he finds out how much time you have been putting into a side project when deadlines were looming. The above would make sense if one is unable to afford or obtain coders period.

Im a UX and front end designer bootstrapping my own products with pure sweat equity at night but always looking for someone else to partner with(engineer/programmer)to bring these ideas life. As talented as a programmer/web developer may be, it still takes at least SOME time to grasp the basic concept of what you are wanting to do.

That key person will understand what product or service the market is demanding and surround himself with the smartest people to make sure the idea gets realized. 2) The Biz Person (organization and equity person) who understands how to structure the company and raise capital. 90% of entrepreneurs can not raise capital.
