We’ve had some success with hiring interns for fashion design and editorial work, so we were hoping to replicate that with a coder, even in basic HTML, CSS and PHP. There’s definitely a learning curve, but for anywhere between $7-$25 an hour for experienced coders, it’s hard to deny.

I was basically a consultant without the payment and I basically got taken advantage of. If you can't do that convincingly, go get investor money and hire a consultant. I also know someone else who consulted me about his website idea. Well as a programmer of many websites I find that it is easier for my clients to consult my ideas first. I do consult people, however I am not looking for work right now. Its best to agree to everything on the front end, and get it all in writing in a contract.
