The poverty rate in Guatemala is around 55%, so I decided to take Rollie to El Remete, Guatemala. Day 0 – Travel to Guatemala City before our next day connection Today was a travel day. We arrived in Guatemala City at 7pm, and got through customs and immigration fairly quickly. But I thought I’d share it all.

My colleague here at Belmont University, Jose Gonzalez, has been working with a group of students to assist honey farmers in Guatemala. They all spent time in Guatemala over part of the Christmas break and are now back working on plans to help these farmers. Please go to the website and give our students your vote.

It can help build communities. With donations from the community for funding, materials, equipment and time, the team began to implement its plan. More than 500 curious and excited students gathered to celebrate the grand opening and start the process of rebuilding the Union University community.
