C-Corp largely because (i) VCs have historically favored C-Corps for nuanced tax and other reasons, and (ii) virtually all of the standardized legal infrastructure around startup finance and equity compensation assumes a C-Corp. However, times are changing. If you are an LLC tech startup, you need tax counsel.

Lots of business-y, idea-type people who say they’re looking for a co-founder are, in reality, looking for what is best described as an “engineering bitch.&# Date for a bit, then split the equity. Experienced, talented software engineers have lots of options in life, and most of them involve getting paid.

Someone who is egotistical enough to call themselves a rockstar, yet humble enough not to want 99% of the equity? I do disagree about two other points: First, this isn't the "quora rockstar engineer" perspective. It's my perspective as well and I'm not a software engineer let alone a rockstar.

But what I think was hard, and it was something he couldnt consider was that it would be harder to find a *maintaining* programmer, and how much it would cost to run the software, because of technical details he didnt understand.
