It's very hard for PLG to be the only or main motion with infrastructure products because it's not something one engineer will just test and buy. Obviously if you target enterprise customers, you usually have a very large ACV (Annual Contract Value) and the product usually is complex. But they built a very realistic simulation demo.

You may get a software engineer to start something for you, but they wont stick with the project when it gets difficult.

The best composition is probably one engineer whose passion lies in the pixels on the screen and another engineer whose passion is making bits fly really fast through servers. is it really that the only people who can build great startups are engineers?
