Here are my 10 tips (oh, and by the way, I did raise venture capital for Palo Alto Software at one point, and I’ve been a consultant to venture capital for 35 years). Start with the elevator pitch and get the key points down, but the theoretical 60 seconds of the classic elevator pitch is too much.

You should also prepare an elevator pitch, which is a 5 minute verbal summary of your business idea and the plan. It is called an elevator pitch because you should be able to pitch to someone over an elevator ride.
