I’ve gotten to know several of Rich’s partners over the past few years and recently had a wonderful Do More Faster book tour dinner hosted at Avalon’s San Diego office by Kevin Kinsella (a fellow MIT-grad turned VC.). In conjunction with their financing, Avalon just rolled out a new website designed by Slice of Lime.

I found myself pushed into entrepreneurship after being laid off from a Marketing Director position with a San Diego based high tech company in 2003. I was turned on to the concept of coworking in 2010, when I hosted a networking event, for an organization I was leading, at San Diego’s first coworking space, the Hive Haus.

Last Tuesday, while I was enjoying a week off the grid, AvidXchange announced they had raised a $225 million financing led by Bain Capital Ventures. This was an atypical investment for us as we participated in the financing through our Foundry Group Select fund. But then Mike called me about some more stuff a week later.

A big part of this growth is with video marketing and pruning my email list to focus only on my most engaged subscribers. My Facebook community of over 12,000 mom bosses need help with their growth and my videos and emails help them succeed. I also plan on opening a new location for our agency in San Diego, by April 2020.
