HBSAANY has evolved into an educational organization, holding investor education events in NY , Florida , New Jersey , Connecticut , and San Francisco , as well as many webinars. We saw over time that our investor group, just like Angel List and most other angel groups, was good at syndication and not so good at leading rounds.

I think I took the first two or three meetings with Fred's lead investor, which is pretty funny. Eric Ries : So, what was the investor reaction like? So, a lot of the initial lift was finding all of those people in a city that we weren't from and had some network but more limited network than had it been in the Bay Area.
