I know that most people who are close to them tend to deny their existence, as we saw in the great housing bubble of 2002-2007 and the dot com bubble of 1997-2000. The fact that today’s Internet bubble does not represent all companies does not disprove its existence. Ah, but today’s Internet companies have real revenue!

And at PayPal we were hit with a couple patent disputes while in the midst of our IPO process. While it was still a college-focused SNS, Facebook of course launched in 2004 and there were plenty of other examples of social networking already… Friendster (2002), LinkedIn (2003), MySpace (2003), Orkut (2004). execs involved.

So why would you not think that internet retailers are interested in maximizing pricing as well? The company announced that is just completed $13M in financing from existing investors SMH Private Equity Group, ABS Ventures, Austin Ventures, and Trellis Partners. The company could be preparing for an IPO.

It was 2002 – the “dog days&# of the Internet and we were running out of cash. One investor played chicken with me by threatening not to approve my next-round financing unless I gave him more equity. It was well past the Internet boom, well into Web 2.0, Internet pioneers. Don’t go into VC.”.

When I attended between 1998-2001, there were a few course on entrepreneurship (entrepreneurial finance, entrepreneurial strategy, etc.), but I don’t recall courses on internet strategy. Their success is unparalleled, said Steven Kaplan, Neubauer Family Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance.
