I had a couple of Palm phones, a Windows mobile phone in 2005, and even had a Helio. Androids have plenty of memory--when you include their flash memory cards. The problem is that not all apps work on the flash memory, particularly the ones that use some core functionality of the phone. Here were the camel straws: Memory.

Many people forget that Google acquired Android in 2005 - even before the iPhone was launched. Google has been working on developing a dominant position as the open platform for mobile computing for many years, probably not even knowing that Apple would be their main rival (more likely Microsoft, in fact).

Hangouts Essentially this is group video chat done right that uses HTML5 instead of flash. Instant uploads Google+ has a strong mobile side to it – something that Google is obsessed with and rightly so. This tool lets you tell your circles that you’re online right now if they want to jump in and do video chat.

Not having a fast, functional, incredible mobile-friendly website. billion mobile phones. What's your excuse for not spending a few dollars making your site mobile-friendly? Gratuitous use of Flash. It is not Adobe's fault, it is your fault for using Flash for the most pathetic things mankind has known.

This is Amazon in 2005: Yes, different – but not radically different. All the changes are iterative. They’re improving their layout through testing. When they change something, they *know* it works – because they have (repeatedly) tested it. You can still recognize it.
