Universities typically have many affiliated Special Interest Groups (SIGs), but almost no cooperation between them. I thought this might be of interest to others: Encourage tighter cooperation among their alumni special interest groups (SIGs). Provide more career support for alumni.

If we extend a bit North up the coast line we have many affiliate marketing innovators including ValueClick, Commission Junction and FastClick. They also produced GoToMeeting and CallWave. My messages a) it can be done b) these have produced tremendous financial results and c) these were all innovators in monetization.

But, the wealth symbols among the ATX tech crowd is the currency of “hottest” deal affiliation, as gauged by: who was on the founding team of which post- Trilogy or - Tivoli hit? Whereas in Austin, the tech multi-millionaire and the struggling indie musician could be standing in line together at Torchy’s , if you didn’t know better.
