I’ll start with all the questions I can think of, from many different perspectives: founders, LPs, the press, and even other VCs. Typically, Pre-Seed rounds are less than $1M in aggregate capital raised. This has the effect that founders who are reading TechCrunch see headlines of the form “Company X raises $2M in their Seed round?”
