Small businesses move to the cloud. The ability to self-publish quickly via the cloud is moving businesses out of traditional media. According to a survey by Aberdeen Group , almost 40 percent of small business have adopted cloud computing. Social media isn’t just for early adopters anymore.

One of the companies that will feature at the upcoming web and mobile technology startup conference Echelon 2011 is Fetch Plus , a social media and mobile application development company. The service would use early-stage smart phones and a push system developed by Rhino.

Earlier this summer, we posed the question of whether or not native mobile applications would eventually be made obsolete by the mobile Web. The next highest ranked feature is having a local database (not a cloud-based database) at 81%, and following that is the use of push notifications at 74%. Least Desired Features/APIs. Amazon 18%.

These aging products, developed in earlier times now represent bankrupt ideologies, weak paradigms and byzantine complexity.
