I also made several trips to New York & Boston. Next year I’m going to spend time in Seattle and Boulder in addition. And then the news came. A woman named Trish Hannon called me with the good news that we had won the project. They hired a consultant to help them with the review. The momentum had shifted.

I’m just pointing out my gut feel for approximate ranges of deals that I’ve seen with Silicon Valley having the highest valuations, NY / LA / Boston / Boulder / Seattle having valuations in a slightly lower range but comparable and sometimes significantly lower prices in markets that don’t have a healthy venture market.

Just ask the people of Portland, Seattle, Boulder, Iowa, Princeton, Dallas or countless other cities that don’t have enough venture capital. He would be a very senior hire for us and filling an urgent gap. So … Am I looking to add 8 trips / year to [name your location not already on my annual itinerary]. Not easily.
