If you want to build a business that requires software, be prepared to invest a little money. I recently met a junior software developer working for $200/week + room & board at a business geeks house. The business geek needed a working software prototype and the programmer needed experience.

I’m not afraid to pick up the phone, cold call someone, use LinkedIn to find someone who’s recently left a company that might be considered competitive and ask them for advise around the business model and marketplace. How I can find the right investor (software)? No investor cares about a business plan. Thanks alot!

Microsofts originalplan was to make money selling programming languages, of all things.Their current business model didnt occur to them until IBM droppedit in their lap five years later. Some angels, especially those with technology backgrounds, may be satisfied with a demo and a verbal description of what you plan to do.
