September 2012 A startup is a company designed to grow fast. A barbershop isnt designed to grow fast. When I say startups are designed to grow fast, I mean it in two senses. Partly I mean designed in the sense of intended, because most startups fail. Being newly founded does not in itself make a company a startup.

It was a very simple card shop made up of text listings of the cards I had for sale, the quantity available and the cost per card or per pack. I knew how to find contract proofreaders and also had access to an online database of language translators. Over the years I heavily refined this business.
