CTO Knowledge and Skill I personally believe that the best CTOs will have a technical/developer background. Is there a lot of rework?

It sounds like you didn't provide a compelling value proposition for your co-founder, in terms of following through on your side of the business, developing your idea, or simply managing your relationship. I was basically a consultant without the payment and I basically got taken advantage of. Act accordingly. Not likely.
