I was lucky to sign on as advisor and investor the founder of a very high-profile consumer Internet site who happens to also be a former engineer, who I will call Richard. The first thing I did was to find an advisor who I could trust. om migrated off Drupal.

He said that people who download “standard” software (like TurboTax) from the internet should pay sales taxes, just like someone who buys TurboTax in a box at BestBuy. His premise was that the delivery method of software – and whether there was actual media involved (i.e., CDs) – shouldn’t change whether the software should be taxed.

I had a lot of fun learning what the internet could do for me. In fact, my first website I can’t show you, because I don’t think we have internet access, but I had a Geocities website in 1999 for a card game I used to play called Magic the Gathering. I was getting more into internet marketing and trying to ramp up my income.
