He loves the color green. Blytheville, Arkansas turned out to be a glorious experience for two kids that had never lived outside of New York City and its environs. My dad turns 81 today. He’s one of my best friends. And, a few of my other friends have a birthday today (happy birthday Dave.).

The report finds that California, Massachusetts, and New York saw a decreased number of deals and the amount of funding (from 70% of funding dollars in the second quarter to 63% in the third quarter), while Washington state saw an increase. But deal activity recorded its second highest tally in 8 quarters.

It’s a fairly new structure, with the first one of its kind coming into existence in 2010, but since then it has rapidly taken off. Other corporations may claim to be green or socially responsible, but becoming a benefit corporation shows the public that you are putting your money where your mouth is.

I remember one brutal season doing the January accessory show in New York, flying to Hong Kong to walk their trade show and meet with suppliers, then back to the US to do Magic in Las Vegas, back to NY to do Coterie , and then to Paris to do Premiere Classe. It was clear that our product was priced too high for this particular show.
