In Beijing we hadn’t seen air so badly polluted since we had been in Agra in India in the winter where I swear there was a day you could wave your hand in front of you and see traces of it in the air (and their excuse was they burn dung for heat.). Out of that total, they funded 967 Internet deals with $6.7 billion in all deals.

It’s likely that the investors don’t know you, so try and find warm intros from people in your network. Jeff Clavier, Seed stage investor in 90+ consumer internet startups, said: We all have a different approach to non Silicon Valley opportunities. Network and talk to people. Warm intros are a must.

At betaworks were trying to create a different seed stage business model (John wrote about this a little more here ), at least a bit, and though we might be "obscure even among Web insiders," by nature of being located here in New York we tend (and are right now designed) to have more activities here.
