In in the early 90′s I was in my early 20′s and I programmed on mainframe computers using COBOL, CICS and DB2. AOL was controlled by one company and the Internet was distributed. They controlled distribution to the masses. In 1998 the Department of Justice launched an anti-trust case against Microsoft.

The hosted offering worked by having users place an “HTML-snippet” on their own website, which would retrieve the Java Applet from our servers and connect back to our servers. In 1996, when I started my first company, SneakerLabs, Inc., The product worked.
