Responses ranged from, “hey, they’re in a HUGE market&# to “it is an amazing company and their technology rocks.&# It’s like people arguing that there’s a beautiful beach house in 2006 that represents great long-term value due to scarcity of similar property. Or worse yet they may never get financed.

The best plan in my mind is to make sure that any company we invest in has a tremendous market opportunity with a real business model and high operating margins that can eventually generate real cash flow. With a different business model, we wanted a name that didn’t sound like areal estate brokerage. To find our domain, and therefore name, I created an excel sheet that had one column of ‘primary’ words like fund, finance, deal etc. I came up with my business name, Kate’s Theatrics at about 9pm April 14, 2001.
