The figures are more inspiring today: The 2016 State of Women-Owned Businesses Report says “there are now 11.3 million women-owned businesses in the United States, employing nearly 9 million people and generating over $1.6 This is significant—in 2012, there were only 8.3 million women-owned businesses.
