When outsourcing, remember that lawyers are like VCs…it matters less who’s name is on the front door than who you work with. You can also get to know local media easily, they’re at the same events you are and generally speaking are very approachable. Again…another nobrainer unless you’re LegalZoom.

In addition, I would seek out angel investors and VCs in Philly. What may actually work is approaching somebody and telling them, “look, I have 50k to get this prototype up and running, you can either take it all, or get some cash and equity if you like my idea and you think it’s gonna work&#. I tend towards a more concentrated approach to seed investing where we make fewer, larger, investments and take an active role in working with the companies we fund. Amplifying that expertise through blogs, Twitter, live streams will get you the attention of VCs, too. Please change it. startupcto
