The second announcement is that we recently closed $200M of committed capital for NextView V and our first All Access Opportunity Fund. While this is still quite small in the grand scheme of venture (and even quite modest among leading seed firms) this is a significant increase from the capital we raised for Nextview IV.

This strategy of portfolio composition is known as “venture capital economics”. Big returns on a few investments in the portfolio drive the returns for the whole portfolio. Limited partners, who commit capital to venture funds, have to commit for 7–13 years. This model has other problems.
