I personally think that the opinion about PHP in the web-developer community is way too negative. Im happy PHP existed 10 years ago, I think it got a lot of people interested in web development when the alternatives were monsters like ASP and JSP. Python is good for system administration, PHP is great for Web development.

When it becomes possible to build products "live" with customers, the cycle time changes and design becomes a much more dynamic process. We still struggle to create Firm software that is defect-free, and it still requires customer insight (and maybe some customer development) to discover what will Delight.
