It can be as simple as a short, Lean Business Plan that serves as a strategic roadmap for your business, or as comprehensive as a formal business plan that instills confidence in bank lenders and investors. Remember, if you just need a Lean Business Plan, not a formal business plan, shorter is better. So be sure to edit thoroughly!

Our group is reviewing companies and will award a six-figure investment in May at an event held May 13 in Eugene, Oregon, my home town. Without going into detail here, our deal terms lean towards companies that will be getting a larger investment from professional venture capital within a year or so. Likelihood of exit.

I know that this all seems obvious now with the movements started by Steven Blank ( Four Steps of Epiphany ) with the whole Customer Development processes / Lean Startup movements also popularized by people like Eric Ries. I know that their are independent software companies now focused on this like UserVoice and Get Satisfaction.
