Diego and I first met in 1997. I had recently finished the Master of Software Engineering ( MSE ) program at Carnegie Mellon and gone full time on my first startup. So Diego did what only a hacker who loves music can do — as a side project he built a search engine for MP3s – (2look4.com) Diego was smarter than me.

For 1991 I was very technical and also had a lot of practical business implementation experience in technology. My colleagues that graduated with engineering degrees from UCSD were paid $31,000 – 15% more. I struggled to get the group to take me – they only took engineers. She WAS an engineer and plenty technical.

And oh yes, when Steve Jobs returned to Apple in 1997 its stock was trading at $3/share.

In December 1996, while I was still a student in the Master of Software Engineering program at Carnegie Mellon, I got bit hard by the entrepreneurial bug. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon in 1997 and decided to use my OPT to give the company a proper shot. Technology leadership and innovation knows no bounds.
