You’ve seen this with companies like StackOverflow and Github in software engineering or Behance in visual design. It’s really been a pleasure for me to work with these guys.

It''s also not the best way to create a helpful syndicate of investors that share the founder''s vision for the company. If it turned out that the best experiences I''ve had as an investor come from knowing someone a long time, I might go to events that are more around a specialty, like software development or design.

To be fair Apple designs products in a holistic fashion… iStuff is remarkable not just for the physical product design but for the software user interface. I co-founded NextView Ventures , a seed-stage VC firm based in Boston, in 2010. At the end of the day, Apple isn’t really a software platform company.

Most of the other processs changes - mandatory design reviews (prelimninary, critical, etc), - documenting all our procedures, and so on - were to support those two factors. It might be more precise to categorize them of two kinds of flaws: flaws in implementation, and flaws in design. Im keen on the two-kinds-of-bugs thing.
