Will The Marketplace Fairness Act Affect Your Small Business?

'In May, the Senate approved S.743 , a bill dubbed the Marketplace Fairness Act, by more than a two-to-one margin. The bill was drafted to close what is seen as a tax loophole — one that has allowed online retailers to avoid collecting sales tax. If the bill makes it through the House, President Obama has indicated he will sign it into law. There has been a lot of debate thus far over the bill and I’ll try not to weigh too heavily with my own opinion.

Samsung making the right move by acquiring Boxee

'I’ve been a longtime fan of Boxee and what Avner was building with that company. And not just because I was able to play ping pong with him once upon a time ;). And the news this week that Boxee was acquired by Samsung shows that Avner was onto something and Samsung sees where the future is going. I’m sure the $30 million acquisition price is far less than Boxee was hoping for, but I believe they found a great home with Samsung.
