My firm GRP Partners recently funded a young LA based company named Ad.Ly So Google launched Google AdWord and AdSense based in part on technology it acquired when it bought an LA-based company called Applied Semantics. People mistook the fact that these text advertisements worked in Google to say they would work in social networks.
