In 2011, it accounted for approximately $2.3 billion in total industry sales. So, if I were going to invent something, I’d probably start by creating an affordable jeweler’s workbench, not least because I’d be able to test it, and because I already know all the distribution channels I’d need to hit in order to sell it.

The startup didn’t work out, but I found ways to be around it, whether it was on the sales side in Goldman for a few years. So they have about 60 million customers now, and they have a view of the net present value of each customer when they’re onboarding them and their models to show it. Jonathan Siddharth. Sounds great.

" Distribution is everything. But it isnt the same as having the sales instinct down so well that he can taste it. He used to sneak out every now and then and go on sales calls with GE sales guys, often from Plastics, where he grew up at GE. Sometimes the leader caves to the sales manager hes hired.
