Traditional video had very high costs of distribution due to limited time slots of broadcast TV (we only had enough spectrum to support 3-4 channels). The number of channels grew with cable & satellite TV but we still have limitations that makes distributing content high. But distribution is now unlimited. Not so fast.

This marketplace will help bring price equilibrium to media supply and demand thereby further increasing the marketing budget spent on this medium.

One is explaining the world as it used to work: the importance of gatekeepers, the scarcity implied by limited distribution, and the resulting quality bar that the industry is so proud of. Mostly it is the time and expense required to create the means of distribution for that industry. It’s just taking some longer than others.

Evernote makes a great software product and distributes it through a free to upgrade approach. Products and services can be packaged and distributed through a multitude of channels and delivered in physical form, digital form and as one time purchases or ongoing subscriptions. This is probably the most common approach.

But DailyMotion’s geographic distribution of users doesn’t mirror YouTube, especially within the United States. Like YouTube, you can monetize DailyMotion videos with in-stream advertisements. Of course, with Wisita, you must create the audience for your videos—there’s no inherent distribution network (unlike YouTube).
