It is what Seed used to be from 2009-2013, until the Seed rounds got fat and bloated and the bar for raising a Seed round became a lot higher. Q: What amount of financing is considered Pre-Seed? Typically, Pre-Seed rounds are less than $1M in aggregate capital raised. Q: Is Pre-Seed a Thing?

I based these documents off a recent transaction where a company that had used the Series Seed Documents raised a Series A round. This level of investment in financing documentation made sense when the investments were $3 million to $5 million, but for these smaller seed stage rounds, it’s simply overkill.
